Rejoined
Rejoined is part of my Fragments of What Remains series — a collection of contemporary metal artworks exploring memory, nostalgia and the traces we carry through life.
Made from layered copper, brass and nickel silver, this piece is etched, embossed, stitched, scorched and weathered by hand, bringing together worn surfaces, marks and fragments that speak of time, care and repair.
For me, Rejoined reflects on the relationships, memories and experiences that shape us — the things that break apart, reconnect and continue to leave their mark.
Visible stitched seams suggest mending, protection and resilience, while scorched surfaces, softened edges and shifting patinas hint at stories lived, altered and held onto. The small button detail offers a quiet nod to memory, domestic histories and the comfort found in familiar objects.
Inspired by family history, cloth, memory and the landscapes that shape us, Rejoined considers what it means to gather together the fragments that matter most.
A one-off original artwork.
